About Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority PCAA
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PAA) is an independent public sector organisation that reports to the Federal Government of Pakistan via the Aviation Division Cabinet Secretariat. By virtue of the 1982 Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority ordinance, the CAA was founded on December 7th. The Ministry of Defence (MoD)’s Civil Aviation Department (CAD) oversaw civil aviation-related operations before the CAA was established. Even after CAA was established on December 7, 1982, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) remained in charge. However, the Cabinet Secretariat (Aviation Division) was given this duty by the Pakistani government in June 2013.
The establishment of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is to regulate and promote civil aviation activities while creating a framework for a civil air transport service that is safe, effective, sufficient, affordable, and well-coordinated in Pakistan.
December 7th is a significant day since it is the anniversary of the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) founding in 1944 as a result of the well-known Chicago Convention.
