About Pakistan Television Corporation PTV
The state-owned television broadcaster in Pakistan, Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), was established on November 26, 1964. Since that time, this national broadcaster has grown and now operates PTV centers in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, AJK, and Multan.
With the greatest terrestrial infrastructure in Pakistan, we serve about 92% of the country’s population as the leading television network. PTV Home, PTV News, PTV World, PTV Sports, PTV Global, PTV Bolan, PTV National, PTV Parliament, and AJK TV are the nine TV channels that make up the PTV Network’s bouquet.
Pakistan began broadcasting television when a modest test station was built in Lahore. On November 26, 1964, the station’s first broadcast was in black and white. Television stations were founded in 1967 in Karachi and Rawalpindi/Islamabad, and in 1974 in Quetta and Peshawar.
